“When I started the Massage Therapy program at triOS, I thought I’d be learning basic techniques to provide therapeutic care and promote physical wellness. I didn’t expect to dive so deeply into anatomy, pathology, and clinical science. It was overwhelming at first. I initially struggled to reach the 70% passing mark, but I stayed consistent, and by the time I graduated, I was achieving over 90%. To succeed, I made a big decision: I left my job and committed fully to the program. I showed up early, stayed late, and completed my clinic hours with 100% attendance, becoming the first in my cohort to finish. I also completed my outreach hours ahead of schedule. I took every opportunity, from countless online tutoring sessions and independent study to cadaver labs at the University of Guelph, town halls, and massage therapy conferences. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. One of the most impactful parts of my journey was the clinic, where I was guided by Taka Munemoto, our instructor. He gave us real insight into the profession and taught us what excellence looks like in practice. I’m also deeply grateful to instructor Bill Antczak, whose dedication during the final stretch helped prepare us for success in our mock OSCE and MCQ exams. There were tough days, tension in the classroom, moments I wanted to quit, but I stayed the course. I learned to speak up, lead, and grow through the struggle. To future students: stay focused. Don’t let your environment or self-doubt stop you. Your resilience will speak louder than any obstacle. triOS didn’t just teach me massage therapy, it built my confidence, discipline, and courage.”
